Who and How We Serve
The Haughville and Hawthorne neighborhoods (just west of the Indianapolis Zoo/ IUPUI area) is an area of Indianapolis that needs our help. The median income in this neighborhood is just $27,000. And, 1 in 5 houses (20%) in this neighborhood are vacant. Our goal is to rehabilitate these houses, transforming them into quality, safe homes that new homeowners will be proud to call their own. To do this, we connect with community partners, like the Indianapolis Housing Partnership, to give potential homeowners the education and support they need to succeed. We also connect with parishes around the city and other community organizations that have related missions.
We need your help!
We are currently working on 3 houses in Haughville that will soon be quality, stable homes for families that otherwise would probably not be able to own their own homes. We need your help to finish the rehabilitation of these houses. Reach out to us to schedule or let us know if you have a specific skill set you are willing to share. We would love to have groups of 5-20 or individuals join us this fall.
Prefer not to get your hands dirty?
In addition to our rehabilitation needs, we often require help in the office, filing paperwork, data input, and mailings.
